As part of the National Forest Soil Inventory (NFSI), we are currently carrying out vegetation mapping on 72 sample areas in North Rhine-Westphalia. On behalf of the State Agency for Nature, Environment and Consumer Protection (LANUV), we are monitoring which plant species we find at these sites and documenting how much area they cover. The aim of the NFSI is, among other things, to collect information on the condition and development of forests in Germany, which is used as a basis for forestry and environmental policy decisions. Further information on the NFSI can be found on the LANUV homepage (https://www.lanuv.nrw.de/bze).
